An Intimate Forsyth Park Inn Elopement | Carlton & Autumn

Some weddings need a ballroom. This one needed a staircase, a window, and fifteen people who mattered most. Carlton and Autumn chose the Forsyth Park Inn Elopement — a historic Savannah inn sitting right on the edge of Forsyth Park — and kept the guest list to the people they couldn’t imagine the day without. Two hours of coverage. No filler, no downtime. Just the moments that actually mean something, back to back.

Getting Ready at the Forsyth Park Inn Elopement

Carlton got dressed first, and then it was Autumn‘s turn — and this is where the day gave me one of my favorite frames. Her mom laced her into her gown, hands working slowly up the back of the dress. There’s something about a mother doing that final lacing that no amount of posing can recreate. You just have to be ready for it.

Then, before she ever walked down, Autumn got a moment most brides never think to ask for: she peeked out the window and caught her first glimpse of Carlton waiting below as she came down the stairs. Her face in that window is the kind of image couples hang on a wall for thirty years.

And then her dad saw her. We set up a first look between Autumn and her father, and the moment he turned around and saw his daughter in her gown — that one didn’t need any direction from me either.

The Ceremony and Celebration

The ceremony was short, the way elopement ceremonies usually are — and honestly, the way a lot of couples wish theirs had been. Vows, rings, the kiss, and fifteen people who were genuinely there for it.

Afterward we moved straight into a cake cutting, a quick toast, and family formals. With a small guest list, formals take minutes instead of an hour, which is exactly why intimate weddings photograph so well: more of your coverage goes to the two of you.

Portraits in Forsyth Park

The Forsyth Park Inn sits steps from the park itself, so we walked right over for portraits — We ended the day with just Carlton and Autumn: quiet, intimate portraits of the two of them, no audience, no schedule pressure.

Two hours. A full wedding story.

Thinking About a Forsyth Park Inn Elopement in Savannah?

If you’re planning an intimate wedding or elopement at the Forsyth Park Inn — or anywhere in Savannah — this is exactly the kind of day I love to photograph. Small guest count, real moments, and coverage built to match your timeline instead of stretching it.
