Chateau 1800 sits on a private estate of 56 acres in Rincon, just minutes outside Savannah. European-inspired architecture rises out of the Georgia lowcountry, manicured gardens spill toward the water, and the whole place has the quiet confidence of somewhere that doesn’t have to try hard to take your breath away. From the moment you turn down the drive, it feels less like a venue you booked and more like somewhere your story already belonged.
Your morning starts in the bridal suite while your people fuss over the details, and the guys settle into the groom’s lounge nearby. When it’s time, you’ll say I do beside the lake — the pavilion and the water doing half the work of making the moment unforgettable. Cocktail hour drifts over to the private island, a short walk away, where the light goes golden and your guests get a moment they’ll still be talking about months later. Then it’s onto the lakeside lawn to dance under the Georgia sky.
As the night winds down and you walk out as a married couple, you’ll glance back at the water and the lights and realize the day went exactly the way you hoped — and that you have it all, every quiet and loud and in-between moment, captured to keep.

If the venue allows it, yes — and here’s why it’s worth it. Getting ready on-site means no rushed travel, no traffic eating your timeline, and it lets me document the morning on both sides without missing anything. With a separate bridal suite and groom’s lounge here, you each get your own calm space and I can move between them easily.
The honest answer: we work backward from the light, not the clock. The most flattering, soft light happens in the 1–2 hours before sunset, so I’ll usually recommend a ceremony time that leaves us a window for portraits in that golden stretch. Since sunset shifts a lot between, say, a June and a November wedding here, send me your date and I’ll give you an exact target time. A first look earlier in the day buys us even more flexibility.

I’ll send you a simple shot list ahead of time and we’ll knock family photos out in about [15–20] minutes so you can get to cocktail hour on the island. The key is naming a point person from each side who can wrangle relatives — it saves more time than anything else.

We make beautiful photos rain or shine — I come prepared for weather. That said, I’ll want to know the venue’s covered/indoor backup option so we’ve got a plan we both feel good about.
For a property with this much ground — getting-ready in two places, a ceremony by the water, cocktails on the island — a second shooter earns their keep. They cover his-side getting ready and reaction shots while I’m with you, and catch angles one person simply can’t be in two places for. Not mandatory, but on a venue like this I’ll usually recommend it.
You’ve been to the weddings where the couple barely got to enjoy their own day — pulled from photo to photo, smiling on cue, watching the hours disappear. That’s the quiet fear, isn’t it? That you’ll spend the day you planned for a year just performing it, instead of living it.
